چکیده

recurrent or ongoing angina after successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with metal stents in the absence of any relevant re-stenosis may be caused by functional coronary abnormalities.2 In the present study we describe the case of a patient with previous successful BVS implantation who was referred for repeated coronary angiography due to recurrent angina and subsequently underwent i.c. provocation testing with acetylcholine to identify coronary artery spasm. ioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) have been proposed as an alternative therapy to bare metal or drugeluting metal stents for the treatment of epicardial coronary stenosis. Studies have suggested that BVS are able to restore vascular function in response to acetylcholine,1 but large-scale randomized data regarding the effects of this treatment on vascular function as compared with current thirdgeneration stents are still lacking. We recently showed that B

Patient profile and periprocedural outcomes of bioresorbable vascular scaffold implantation in comparison with drug-eluting and bare-metal stent implantation. Experience from ORPKI Polish National Registry 2014–2015

INTRODUCTION There are limited data on the comparison of bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS) and drug-eluting stent (DES)/bare-metal stent (BMS) implantation in an unselected population of patients with coronary artery disease. AIM To compare the periprocedural outcomes and patient profile of BVS and DES/BMS implantation in an all-comer population from the ORPKI Polish National Registry. ...

Coregistered intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography imaging during implantation of a bioresorbable vascular scaffold.

A 50-year-old man presented with exertional angina and a positive treadmill test. Coronary angiography demonstrated a significant lesion in the mid-right coronary artery, and he proceeded to percutaneous coronary intervention. Because implantation of a bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS) (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, California) was considered, intracoronary imaging was performed using both ...

Vascular Healing of a False Lumen After Bioresorbable Scaffold Implantation.

Bioresorbable scaffolds (BRS) are promising devices for the treatment of coronary artery disease by virtue of their resorption properties allowing positive vascular remodeling. This case report illustrates the vascular healing process after Absorb BRS (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, CA) implantation in a false lumen during the treatment of a chronic total occlusion. A 62-year-old male with stabl...

Coronary Artery Vessel Healing Pattern, Short and Long Term, After Implantation of the Everolimus‐Eluting Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold

BACKGROUND Although the Absorb bioresorbable vascular scaffold is increasingly used in daily clinical practice for the treatment of coronary artery disease, the exact vascular healing pattern and the resorption process in humans is unknown because histological data are derived only from animal studies. METHODS AND RESULTS We have obtained 4 autopsies (5 scaffolds) since August 2013. Duration ...
